The company is relocating its US headquarters today (June 11) in an interim move to 21,741 sf of space at 105 Corporate Park Dr. in Harrison. By November of this year, the firm will relocate to 31,443 sf of space at 777 Westchester Ave. in White Plains. EastRidge Properties owns both the 105 Corporate Park Dr. property and 777 Westchester Ave.

The space Austin Nichols will occupy at 777 Westchester Ave. comprises the entire third floor of the 125,731 sf office building. The space is currently occupied by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, which is moving its corporate headquarters operations to the Nine West complex on Westchester Ave.

Austin Nichols, which is also the importer of Jameson Irish Whiskey and other major wine and sprits brands, is the US subsidiary of Groupe Pernod Ricard, the fifth largest wine and sprits company in the world. Sources close to the deal expect approximately 80 employees of Austin, Nichols to occupy its new US corporate headquarters by November of this year.

Making the move from its Manhattan offices are personnel involved with corporate management as well as the marketing, sales, export, finance and human resources departments. In addition, the brand management of Orlando and Wyndham wines will also work out of the White Plains space. Company officials say that some administrative staff will remain in Manhattan.

Commenting on the move, Michel Bord, managing director of Austin Nichols and president and chief executive officer of Pernod Ricard Americas, says, "The move to offices in Westchester will allow us to continue the dynamic growth we have experienced in the past few years and to expand as necessary to handle world class brands of the Pernod Ricard group." Officials with EastRidge Properties say that Austin Nichols has options to expand their office space requirements at 777 Westchester Ave. in the future.

In December 2000, Pernod Ricard announced it had signed an agreement with Diageo to purchase Seagram's wines and spirits business. The brands that will be acquired include: Chivas Regal, Seagram's Extra Dry gin, Martell Cognac, Glenlivet and Glen Grant whiskies and Montilla rum. That deal has not closed to date.
