The chamber also elected Peter Roulhac, First Union National Bank director of community development, as first vice chairman. He will serve as chairman-elect during the '02-03 term.

A 1965 graduate of Harvard University, Lowell began his real estate career in 1974 in Miami. As a Codina vice chairman, Lowell manages the leasing operations of the Barclays Financial Center, a 30-story, 520,000-square-foot office tower in the Brickell Avenue submarket; and a new 16-story, 200,000-square-foot office tower in Coral Gables.

Besides his volunteer work with the chamber, Lowell also serves as a member of the Beacon Council board of directors, a local public-private economic development partnership. He serves as chairman of the Salvation Army advisory board and is a recent past chairman of the St. Stephens Episcopal Day School board of directors.
