The scheme, designed by leading minimalist designer, John Pawson, has 100ft of frontage of to Brompton Road The Prada Sport store will be the first European branch following the successful openings in Soho in New York and Tokyo. The 10,500 sf store features a 22 ft-high shopfront. B&B Italia has taken the adjoining 13,650 sf unit. Letting agent Nelson Bakewell had been quoting £1 million per annum in rent for the two units combined.
Nick Roberts of Chelsfield said 'The stunning architectural design of this scheme combined with the vibrancy and quality of these two retailers will undoubtedly consolidate Brompton Cross as a destination retail area characterised by a unique retail mix.'
B&B Italia anticipates trading from June 2001 with Prada Sport scheduled to open later in the year. Michael Peddar &Co. acted for Prada Sport while Pilcher Hershman acted for B&B Italia
