Starwood and Ivy Equities Are Big BOMA Winners

WHITE PLAINS-The Westchester chapter of the BOMA chose Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Ivy Equities as its Hall of Honor award winners for the year 2000. It also handed out prizes for best office buildings in five categories.

WHITE PLAINS-Hotelier Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Ivy Equities were recently inducted into the Hall of Honor of the Building Owners and Management Association’s Westchester Chapter. Starwood, which is headquartered here, and Ivy Equities, a commercial real estate development firm based in Clifton, NJ, were honored at BOMA Westchester’s Tenth Annual Hall of Honor Awards Dinner on May 10 at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill in Tarrytown.

Accepting the award for Starwood was F. Daniel Gibson, senior vice president of corporate affairs, while co-founders Rusty Warren and Anthony DiTommaso took home the prize for Ivy Equities. A rather recent entrant into the commercial ownership sector in Westchester, Ivy Equities owns 2975 Westchester Ave. in Purchase, 411 Theodore Fremd Ave. in Rye as well as the Crosswest Office Center at 399 Knollwood Road and 244 Westchester Ave., both located here.

Starwood, which has approximately 725 hotel and leisure properties in 80 countries and more than 120,000 employees, is in the midst of consolidating its corporate headquarters in Westchester from space at 777 Westchester Ave., and 44 South Broadway to 1111 Westchester Ave., part of the Nine West complex.
