Foundation Named For CyberCity in $300-Mil Project

OWINGS MILLS, MD-The CyberCity@Owings Mills, aimed at boosting regional tech businesses, is part of plans for the $300 million Town Center at the Owings Mills Metro Station being developed by LCOR.

OWINGS MILLS, MD-A new foundation has been created to oversee the development of the planned CyberCity@Owings Mills. Democratic Baltimore County Delegate Robert A. Zirkin, chairman of the task force aimed at bridging the “digital divide” in Baltimore County, created the “CyberCity Technology Advancement Foundation,” and plans to announce more details about its plans and CyberCity@Owings Mills on Thursday (June 14).

Plans call for the new CyberCity to be located in the soon-to-be-built $300 million Town Center at the Owings Mills Metro Station. The technology center would include tech training, serve as an incubator for new tech companies, and offer space for product demonstrations and conference rooms for technology vendors. It is also proposed to offer classrooms for college technology courses, a virtual gaming area and virtual cafes and theme restaurants.

“Our plan calls for CyberCity@Owings Mills to be the best of breed–blending public access, education and entertainment, with technology research and development,” says Zirkin.
