Lumigen chose to relocate operations because their former facility was no longer able to support operations. The older, outdated building was also unsuitable for the predicted future direction and growth of the company. Lumigen had expanded operations only as space became available, leading to a compromise in efficiencies and safety considerations, company officials admit.

Lumigen's new building, at 41,500-sf, features office, research laboratory and production spaces. The new center accommodates the activities of approximately 60 to 70 people, reflecting the projected growth within various departments.
