Manchester has had an option on the project since 1999. But the partnership became tense Manchester proved unable to attract financing. He filed a lawsuit against the port last month over another hotel project, the proposed Spinnaker Hotel, slated to be near the Campbell site.
As part of yesterday's agreement, Manchester agreed to drop the lawsuit. His company, Manchester Resorts, will now be able to concentrate on expanding the bayside Hyatt hotel and on its plans to build two hotels and a golf course in Oceanside.
