The four-story 110,800-sf building will include a café market, great room, craft studio, fitness center and spa, library, salon, sanctuary and private dining room. Units for seniors opting for independent living will have private laundry facilities and full Internet capabilities.
The 2.75-acre site offers views of Oak Brook Hills Resort and the 18-hole championship Willow Crest Golf Club.
Plans for the project at the northeast corner of Cass and Chestnut have been in the works since March 1999.
McShane Construction Corp. is doing the designing and building of Cordia Senior Residence. Financing is being provided by Washington Mutual. Archideas, Inc. is project architect.
