The council Tuesday will consider plans for a 30,000-sf expansion of St. Michael's School's classrooms and library. The Catholic institution wants to add administrative offices, computer labs and an art studio -- as well as outdoor performance and athletic facilities, at 15546 Pomerado Road. The church hopes to break ground by fall.
Just south of the Catholic school, a Hebrew group, the Ner Tamid synagogue, hopes to build a temple, school, offices, community center, gymnasium, meeting rooms and offices in two buildings totaling 40,000 sf.
The Ner Tamid synagogue, now on West Bernardo Drive in Rancho Bernardo, hopes to begin building next spring on an 8-acre parcel that is part of 32 acres it owns jointly with Rancho Bernardo Presbyterian Church.
