The Vintage on Town Lake, a high-rise, 200-unit complex, is planned for the shore of Town Lake just east of Interstate 35 on Riverside Drive. The developer, John Cathey of Waco, is requesting a change for more units and a taller building, possibly as high as nine stories. The project is seeking the highest-density development category permissible for its development.
Jim Bennett, who is representing the project before the city council, says the next hearing could come in a few weeks. If approved, he tells GlobeSt.com, the project could break ground as early as August. Bennett calls it a mid-market complex. The city's planning commission has approved the zoning change, but now it's in city council's hands.
