The tallies also slightly exceeded the $54.6 million April, says the Colorado Division of Gaming. Adjusted gross proceeds represent the amount wagered minus payouts from the casinos.
Black Hawk, west of Golden, as usual, dominated. The 20 casinos in Black Hawk generated 70.5% of the total with $39.3 million. The five casinos in Central City, adjacent to Black Hawk, report $4.9 million in adjusted gross proceeds, while Cripple Creek's 19 casinos reported $11.5 million. Cripple Creek is south of Colorado Springs.
