The company manufactures aluminum stampings and assemblies for the automotive industry. It's operated by J&J Inc., a company that also owns L&W Engineering, Advanced Engineering Co., Axis Engineering and Jaytec. About 1,600 employees work for J&J in Michigan.
Krestec is receiving an abatement of the 6-mill state education tax for about $849,000, and $2 million for infrastructure improvements through the state. The village of Dundee is providing a 50% abatement of the company's real and personal property taxes for 12 years, worth an estimated $4 million.
Construction is slated to begin in August, with completion of the facility planned for July 2002.
