Northstar Corridor Residents Want Rail

MINNEAPOLIS-Traffic congestion is getting worse in the stretch from northwest Minneapolis to St. Cloud. Eighty percent of residents say the Northstar commuter rail project is a "good" or "very good" idea.

MINNEAPOLIS-Residents in the fast-growing bedroom communities from northeast Minneapolis and to just north of St. Cloud are increasingly worried about traffic congestion and increasingly supportive of the Northstar commuter rail project, according to a new survey sponsored by the Northstar Corridor Development Authority. When asked what they thought of the Northstar commuter rail project, 80% said it was a “good” or “very good idea.”

Only 6% thought it was a “very bad idea,” according to the survey performed by DecisionResources Ltd. of Minneapolis.
