The building, located down the street from the company's existing corporate headquarters at 6290 Sequence Drive, will provide 350 offices, primarily for the company's executive, engineering, marketing, purchasing and human resource departments. The facility is scheduled for completion on Dec. 26.

Earlier this year, Applied Micro Circuits Inc., a publicly traded San Diego-based high-technology company, signed a sublease with Thermoscan for space at 10421 Pacific Center Ct. in Sorrento Mesa, in a deal valued at $1.9 million.

Applied Micro designs, develops, manufactures and markets high-bandwidth silicon solutions for the world's optical networks. Also earlier this year, the company bought a 31.66-acre site in the fourth phase of the Poway Corporate Center for $17.1 million.
