"The 18th Floor is lending an extraordinary new dimension to The WaldorfTowers as an exclusive boutique hotel boasting a 6,000-sf ballroom and18,000 sf of additional dedicated function space," says James W.Blauvelt, the hotel's executive director of catering. "The ExecutiveMeeting Center and Starlight Roof are exciting amenities for Towersguests and residents, in keeping with The Waldorf Towers' new status asa Conrad Hotel--the first member of Conrad Hotels' portfolio of luxuryproperties in North America." The Waldorf Towers occupies the 28ththrough 42nd floors of The Waldorf-Astoria.

The $9.5 million Executive Meeting Center will feature cityscape andriver views as well as an on-site technical team and concierge; T1-10megabyte high-speed Internet connections, direct worldwide satellitelinks, 250 direct-dial telephone lines; microwave transmission; Internetaudio and video streaming; fiber-optic Web broadcasting and videoconferencing capabilities. The space originally housed the CanadianClub, a private club for Canadian nationals living in New York or whowere frequent visitors.

The Waldorf's 18th floor project is the latest of an ongoingmaster-planned Art Deco restoration of the hotel's public spaces,directed by the Boston-based architectural design firm Kenneth Hurd &Associates, which has exceeded $300 million since the early 1980s.
