West began with the operating company's parent firm, Mitchell Energy & Development Corp. in 1984. According to the company, she will oversee all legal services for the entity.

The Woodlands Operating Co. is the developer of the 27,000-acre, master-planned Woodlands community north of Houston. The Woodlands has scored some major hits recently with the announcement of a $40-million hotel and convention center, development of a 200,000-sf headquarters building for Chevron Phillips and Anadarko Petroleum's corporate headquarters relocation to the Woodlands. Anadarko is building a 30-story, 800,000-sf headquarters building in addition to its leased sites at other area buildings.
