Recently, the commercial broker group has joined with the National Association of Realtors, and will now represent commercial brokers outside of the Detroit area.

The added coverage necessitated a name change, says DACBOR president JaniceJacobs. She adds the name has been submitted to NAR, and her organization is awaiting approval.

The approval process is a fairly lengthy procedure, Jacobs says. All the states' boards and associations are being notified of the name, and have until the beginning weeks of July to contest it. Until then, Jacobs said, her organization will be known as "Commercial Real Estate Association operating as DACBOR."
