Abres Ltd. could not be reached for specifics of the proposed project along the high-traffic, heavy retail corridor in the Mid Cities area of Dallas. It is known that the proposed development will be multi-tenant rather than big box oriented. The land is one of the few remaining tracts from Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, which had exited the market a couple of years ago, Bill Vaughn, vice president of investments for Grubb & Ellis Co.'s Dallas office, tells GlobeSt.com.

Vaughn has represented Kaiser Foundation Hospitals in the transaction. Steve Mays, senior vice president of Baker Commercial Realty Inc. in Irving, has acted on Abres Ltd.'s behalf for the buy at 1780 Precinct Line Rd.

Kaiser Foundation Hospitals is based in Oakland, CA. According to Hoover's Online, it has sold all of its unprofitable operations in North Carolina and is in the process of exiting Kansas. Kaiser, says Vaughn, had bought the acreage a few years back with the long-range goal of building a medical facility on the site.
