San Francisco-based Standard Media International, which publishes the Industry Standard newsmagazine on the Web, said its third annual flagship conference, Internet Summit, would be held July 23-25. The gathering is expected to bring 400 senior-level executives from largecorporations, entrepreneurial start-ups, the financial world and government.

Hosted by The Standard's Chairman John Battelle, the executive producers of Internet Summit are Bill Gurley, general partner of Benchmark Capital, and Mary Meeker, managing director, Morgan Stanley.

``We are going through one of the most turbulent periods in the history of technology and Internet Summit is an appropriate time for us to step back and reflect on what we've experienced and learned,'' says Battelle. ``We are delighted to have such a influential group of business leadersin one place to discuss the changes that have taken place and, more importantly, to evaluate what the future may bring.''
