GROVELAND, FL-For tiny Groveland, FL, a rural Orlando bedroom community of 3,100 souls, getting its first supermarket from Tampa, FL-based Kash n’ Karry is a big deal.

The 54-year-old grocer is considering opening an estimated 30,000-sf store at State Road 50 and Villa City Road, 32 miles west of Downtown Orlando. The hard-cost construction investment would be at least $2 million, construction industry estimators tell GlobeSt.com.

Kash n’ Karry hasn’t closed on the property purchase and the city of Groveland awaits approval for a $450,000 state community development block grant to pay for an extended sewer line to a proposed three-store, 55,000-sf strip center.
