The Minneapolis-based consumer electronics, personal computers, entertainment software and appliances retailer has selected the city for its 46th location in Texas. The Pasadena store will open in the fall, employing about 150 full-and part-time workers.
This year, Best Buy has set an expansion initiative into motion that will put 60 more US locations into its portfolio. Best Buy currently has more than 1,800 retail stores in the US, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Pat Matre, Best Buy's vice president of real estate, says the Pasadena store will provide the area with "affordable, high-tech consumer electronics and entertainment products in a shopping atmosphere that is easy to navigate and fun." The end goal, says the company vice president, will show local consumers "how technology can improve their lives."
