Sterling Development Corp., which has been hired by the city of Imperial Beach to oversee the Project, has contracted with Bycor General Contractors Inc. on the renovation, according to Rich Byer, president of Bycor. The project at the corner of 9th Street and Palm Avenue entails a complete "facelift" to an existing shopping center.

Designed by Nadel Architects, the $1 million project is due for completion in early August. Glenn Evans is project manager for Bycor and Rich Steeber is the superintendent.

Bycor is one of San Diego's largest general contractors specializing in commercial construction.
