Mystic Marriott and Spa Opens in Groton

GROTON, CT-The $47-million Mystic Marriott Hotel and Spa opened for business amid much fanfare, including an appearance by Connecticut Governor John G. Rowland. The complex is located at 625 North Road (Route 117) in Groton.

GROTON, CT-A host of state dignitaries, including Connecticut Governor John G. Rowland, were on hand for the opening of the $47 million Mystic Marriott Hotel and Spa here. Wolman Construction of Waterford, CT built the project and Mystic Hotel Investors LLC developed it. It will be managed by Waterford Hotel Group Inc.

The complex, located at 625 North Road (Route 117) in Groton, is set on a footprint of 2.5 acres and adjacent to the 14 acre Mystic Executive Park, which will be the site of a four story, 104,000 sf office building. In addition to Governor Rowland, Bill Munck, vice president, New England market for Marriott International and Teresa McKee, senior vice president of operations for Elizabeth Arden Salon Holdings Inc., officiated at the grand opening ceremony.

The Mystic Marriott boasts a 10,000 sf, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. The spa is the third resort facility for Elizabeth Arden and its first in the state of Connecticut. The Elizabeth Arden Red Door at the Mystic Marriott features “relaxation and serenity rooms” a spa cafe, a juice and elixir bar, fitness center and retail boutique.
