The Communications Workers of America AFL-CIO, the local chapter of the national union, has spent a little more than $1 million for a two-story office building at 11070 N. 24th St. in Phoenix. The 11,800-sf building is just north of Shea Boulevard and about a mile west of the Squaw Peak Parkway. The union is relocating from a location at 9224 N. 5th St.

Steve Bodeman of DAUM's Phoenix office has represented the buyer. Les Larson of the Phoenix office of NAI Horizon has acted on behalf of the seller, Greystone Holding of Prescott.

In a move that represents an expansion, Laminar Technologies has leased 2,237 sf in a 52,000-sf industrial building at 2750 W. Hardy Dr. in Tempe. The Los Angeles-based company plans to use the space for its Phoenix branch location. Bodeman and Paul Miachika, also of DAUM's Phoenix office, has negotiated the pact for the building owner while Estelle Wollin of West USA Realty's Phoenix office has represented the tenant.

Vortex Living Solutions, a Phoenix-based mortgage and loan business, is taking 336 sf of office space at 14631 N. Cave Creek Rd. in Phoenix. The 7,630-sf multi-tenant office building is north of Thunderbird Road, about a mile west of the Squaw Peak Parkway. DAUM's Laura Becker has represented both parties in the lease negotiations.
