The Spokane center, acquired from Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. in 1988, now handles all Bank of America Visa and Mastercard relationships with merchants and commercial customers. Credit card operations make up roughly 15 percent of Bank of America revenues.
Projected growth in merchant and commercial relationships will mean likely additions in the future to the 520 people now working at the Spokane center, Bank of America's Todd Rosin tells GlobeSt.com.
Rosin says he can't release too many details at this time because not that many have been decided. He will say, however, that the company is exploring whether it can reconfigure the layout of the existing building to squeeze in more people, or rather look for new space, either for everybody or only the new employees.
"Obviously moving everybody would be difficult," Rosin says. "We want to stay in Spokane, and we actually have a lot of options here."
