HAINES CITY, FL-Columbus, OH-based Mas Cos. is paying locally based Southern Dunes Properties Inc. $1.6 million or $72,727 per acre ($1.67 per sf) for a 22-acre multifamily-zoned tract 40 miles southwest of Downtown Orlando. The site is on Southern Dunes Boulevard, off U.S. 27 in Haines City.

Mas is buying the dirt in two development phases. In its initial purchase, the developer is paying $1.09 million or $78,286 per acre ($1.80 per sf) for 14 acres. The remaining land will be purchased at an undetermined date.
