The complex, known as Barclay Plaza, is 100% leased. Anchor tenants include Denny's Restaurant and Direct Grower. The shopping center stands at the southwest corner of Newport Blvd. and 17th Ave.
Carol Springstead of Newport Beach-based Pentz & Co. represented the seller, San Fernando Valley-based private investor Herman Barros, as well as Wohl.
This transaction marks the second Costa Mesa retail center that Wohl has purchased in recent months. The investment company also acquired Hillgren Square, a 60,000-sf specialty retail center that is also located along the 17th Street Corridor. Wohl recently began renovations on the property, as reported last month by Globest.com. The company plans to reposition the property into a high-end destination center, to be renamed 17th Street Promenade.
