The developers, Robin Brown, general manager of the Four Seasons Hotel here, Steve Weiner of S.R. Weiner Associates, and Julian Cohen, initially wanted to build a hotel on the site but after a series of meetings with local groups agreed on a mix of hotel rooms, condominiums and rental properties. Proposed plans for the site include a 168-room hotel, 58 apartments and 48 condominiums.

A retail area is also planned for the site; 10% of the residential units will be set aside for affordable housing. The project still has to be approved by the Boston Redevelopment Authority.
