The aggregate value of the deal is better than $7.9 million. Huntsman will occupy the entire seventh floor of the building.
The design firm is expected to vacate its 465 California office and move into the new space in early October, when renovations to the office have been made.
Robert Appleton of Grubb & Ellis represented Huntsman Architectural Group and Karen Bloch of Shorenstein negotiated on behalf of Shorenstein.
Appleton commented that Huntsman chose that particular location after looking at several others because it would be beneficial to them to be downtown where all the brokers were. His client also liked the fact that the 18,000-sf location was in shell condition and could be designed "like a blank canvas."
