The Aliso Viejo site, which is located at 65 Enterprise, is General Bank's fourth branch to be opened in Orange County. "The Aliso Viejo Branch provides General Bank with opportunities to serve a fast-growing population in this developing market," says Peter Wu, president and CEO of Los Angeles-based General Bank.
Aliso Viejo has grown at a rapid fire pace over the past decade or so. The Census Bureau says the community's population has jumped from 7,612 in 1990 to 40,166 last year--a 428% increase that marked the highest in the county.
The population explosion has led to real estate development in the area, as thousands of homes and millions of sf of commercial office space have sprouted up in the city over the past several years.
