DETROIT-The Detroit planning commission has recommended approval of a plan by Westminster and Abbey Homes to purchase city-owned urban renewal property in the Hubbard-Richard Rehabilitation Project Development Area and planned development district site plan approval to develop 42 rowhouse units, 30 townhome units and six single-family homes. The land is seven acres of vacant property near the Detroit-Canada Ambassador Bridge, just east of St. Anne’s Church.

The housing would be market rate, not subsidized, as are most of the units in the area.
