The rest of the panels should be up in about two weeks, Doug Dwyer of Transwestern Commercial Services' Austin office tells GlobeSt.com. The building should be ready in February 2002. There is no pre-leasing completed as yet, but "we're seeing a significant amount of activity," he says.
The market, he says, is in summer doldrums, but action should resume in mid-August."The southwest market, if you look at statistics in terms of direct lease and sublease space, is one of the tightest markets in the city and continues to be a viable alternative," says Dwyer.
Travis Oaks is being positioned on 9.98 wooded acres on the eastbound side of Southwest Parkway, west of the intersection of the parkway and Texas 290 West. The three-story building will have a three-level parking garage and additional surface parking. A significant number of the property's trees will be retained in the construction, which has been awarded to Zapalac/Reed Construction of Austin.
