Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo PC has signed on at 1 Discovery Square. This building will be delivered by the end of this year. Siebel Systems has leased floors one through six for a total of 110,832 sf. The building has a total of 177,646 rentable sf.

Also in the complex is 2 Discovery Square. Its completion is expected in April 2002. Mintz Levin also leased 22,386 sf of space there on the top floor. The building totals 185,222 sf. Clark Construction Group is the project general contractor; Gensler is the project architect.

The complex is located in the Reston Town Center district on 10 acres at Sunset Hills Road and Reston Parkway. Discovery Square will be linked to the Town Center with a pedestrian bridge over the W&OD trail. When completed, there will be two nine-story buildings and two parking decks integrated with the buildings.

Mintz Levin will relocate its current Reston office at 11911 Freedom Dr. into a larger office in Discovery Square. Christopher Allen of Resource Real Estate Group Inc. represented Mintz Levin. Joseph Ritchey of Prospective Inc. represented ownership.

"The Reston Town Center district is quickly becoming a premiere location for the nation's leading law firms, as well as high-tech leaders like Siebel Systems," says Peter Johnston, senior vice president and project manager for Boston Properties. "We are proud to add Mintz Levin to the roster of tenants in our other Reston Town Center buildings, including Cooley Godward; Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati; Finnegan Henderson Farabow Garrett & Dunner; and Latham & Watkins."

"Discovery Square, the newest corporate address in Reston Town Center, offers visibility and easy access to Downtown Washington and the airport," says Thomas A. Williamson, general manager of Reston for Terrabrook. "Discovery Square's location combines the serenity of the W&OD trail with the lively entertainment venues of Reston Town Center."

"Mintz Levin is very pleased to be a part of the growth of the Dulles Technology Corridor with our presence in the Reston Town Center, and we are looking forward to expanding into Discovery Square," says David Barmak, managing partner of Mintz Levin's Reston office. "Our much larger space in Discovery Square will accommodate our growth. We launched our Reston office two years ago with just four lawyers, and now we have nearly 30."

In addition to this complex, the joint venture is also planning Reston Gateway, which will consist of two nine-story buildings with a total of 560,000 sf. The project will be located directly across from the planned Dulles Rail station at Sunset Hills Road and Reston Parkway. This complex and Discovery Square will bring the joint venture's total development activity to 2.2 million sf of commercial property within the Reston Town Center district.
