In addition to 265 hotel rooms, SSH Ventures LLC plans to provide off-street parking for 84 cars. The suites would be Marriott's third property in the River North-Michigan Avenue area, as a full-service Marriott and Courtyard are located east of State St.

SSH Ventures LLC is owned by Chicago attorney Herb Stride, longtime owner of the Ohio House property. Cost and other details are not available, he says, until financing is arranged.

"Financing is not in place, but we have expressions of interest from four different lenders," Stride told the plan commission recently. "They're not willing to come forward until the plan commission gives its approval."

The hotel plans won the support of Alderman Burt Natarus, whose 42nd Ward includes the site.
