I-880 through the Milpitas corridor is one of the Bay Area's most well-known bottleneck areas. John Pilger of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Agency tells GlobeSt.com this will be extremely beneficial for commercial and business development in the area, as it will provide tremendous relief to commuters.
"Figures show that speeds in the area have slowed to about 9 mph," said Pilger. "This project estimates to get that time up to about 51 mph, ultimately saving commuters about 18 minutes."
