Darden is the world's largest casual dining chain, posting $4.02 billion in sales in its fiscal year that ended in May. Darden owns well-known restaurants as Red Lobster and Olive Garden.

In the Denver area, Darden plans a 10,500-sf Bahama Breeze in Lone Tree, just south of the Park Meadows regional mall. The restaurant will seat 300 and is scheduled to open in in mid-October. The other local Bahama Breeze will open in early September in the Flatiron Marketplace near US 36 and 96th Ave. The 8,500-sf restaurant will seat 250.

Each Bahama Breeze boasts an average $6 million in sales annually, about double the sales of an Olive Garden or Red Lobster. Darden has opened 21 of the restaurants across the country so far and plans to open as many as 10 this year.
