Massport to Clear Vegetation Near Hanscom Airport

BEDFORD, MA-The Massachusetts Port Authority intends to clear vegetation on land near Hanscom Field, a local airport whose land abuts this town and Lexington, Lincoln and Concord. But the local conservation commissions want more of a say in the agency's Veggie-Management Plan.

BEDFORD, MA-The Massachusetts Port Authority intends to clear vegetation on land near Hanscom Field, a local airport whose land abuts this town and Lexington, Lincoln and Concord. While the land is owned by Massport, parts of it are within 100 feet of town wetlands, and any work on them requires a formal notice with local conservation committees.

According to Jose Juves, spokesperson for Massport, “We’ve been engaged in the process of communicating with the towns. We want to work cooperatively with the local communities.”
