The development, undertaken by Edinburgh Quay, a joint venture between Miller Developments and British Waterways, will create over 650 new jobs as part of a building programme to deliver waterfront retail, restaurant, residential and office uses. The first phase is for 61 apartments, 119,214 sf of offices and 50,452 sf of restaurants and shops.
Miller Developments Director Andrew Sutherland said: 'We have worked closely with the council for over 18 months with significant public consultation to ensure the style and design of the development will greatly enhance the city as well as addressing the shortage of high quality city centre office space and modern housing.'
Work on site is planned to start in September 2001 with completion in May 2003. Agents are DTZ Debenham Tie Leung and Jones Lang LaSalle.
