SAN JOSE-Opus West says Deloitte & Touche has expanded its prelease commitment at Opus Center San Jose by 23%. The accounting firm will take 145,000 sf instead of 117,000 sf when the 341,000-sf class A office building opens in November. The firm also has options to expand during its 10-year lease.

Including 21,500 sf committed to by Salomon Smith Barney and 6,100 sf to be occupied by Opus, the project at 225 West Santa Clara St. is now 50% leased. Asking monthly lease rates in the building are between $5 per sf and $7 per sf.
