Presidential Payback: Bordonaro on Fannie Mae Board

PORTLAND, OR-George Bush selected the regional chair of his presidential campaign as one of his four appointments to the Board of Directors at Fannie Mae, the nation’s largest source of financing for residential mortgages. Molly Bordonaro, a sales associate at local brokerage Norris Beggs & Simpson, attended her first board meeting earlier this month for the New York-based, non-bank financial services company.

Bordonaro, the Republican nominee for Oregon’s First Congressional District in 1998, served as regional chair of the western states for the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign and chair of Oregon Victory 2000. In 1999, Bordonaro was appointed by Congress to the Commission on the Advancement of Women and Minorities in Science and Technology.
