Vail Resorts Plans $55-Mil in Upgrades

VAIL, CO-The largest owner of ski resorts in Colorado plans upgrades this year at Vail, Breckenridge ($13.4 million there alone), Keystone and Beaver Creek, as well as Grand Teton Lodge Co. in Jackson, WY.

VAIL, CO-Vail Resorts Inc., the largest owner of ski resorts in Colorado, plans to invest $55.8 million in resort improvements this year. Colorado resorts to get upgrades are Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone and Beaver Creek.

Vail Resorts also has plans for improving its Grand Teton Lodge Co. in Jackson, WY. Vail Resorts CEO Adam Aron says they will improve the resorts, while at the same time reducing capital expenditures as a percentage of revenues.

”This year, our efforts will focus primarily on creating new children’s facilities at Breckenridge, as well as the initial steps to create new ski terrain on Breckenridge’s Peak 7,” Aron says. “We will also work to significantly increase grooming of ski terrain across all our ski resorts, and to enhance the technical behind-the-scenes systems that allow us to manage and market our resorts more effectively and efficiently.”
