Prentiss officials were not immediately available for comment.

Unlike Washington D.C, office-space vacancies are up and prices have fallen in formerly tech-heavy Northern Virginia. As a result of the tough times tech companies are facing, leases on Class A space in parts of Northern Virginia have dropped to the low $30s. Area brokers say that bargains are there for the taking, some with options to expand.

Subleasing has also increased substantially in the Northern Virginia market, according to local analysts.
