Republic Q2 Net Drops by 1.9%

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-The national solid waste collection service and landfill operator still meets a quarterly earnings forecast of 34 cents per share.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-Republic Services Inc. experienced a 1.9% drop in second-quarter income, though total revenue grew by 8%. Still, the Fort Lauderdale-based solid waste collection service and landfill operator met the quarterly earnings forecast of 34 cents as tracked by Thompson/First Call.

Of 53 landfills it operates on 24,183 acres of land, the Fort Lauderdale company reported as of Dec. 30 it owned 45 and a total of about 21,113 acres.
