$27-Mil Mixed-Use Development Set for Pontiac

PONTIAC, MI-The Galloway Project will feature a mix of 68 brick homes, 54,000-sf of retail space and 51,000-sf of offices in two towers. Completion of the $27-million development is scheduled for summer 2003.

PONTIAC, MI-The Galloway Project will marry prime residential lakefront homes with commercial development. The city has broken ground on a mixed-use residential/retail/office development that will include 68 brick homes with lake access, a 54,000-sf retail center and two office complexes totaling 51,000-sf. It will located on Pontiac Road near Opdyke Road. AG Construction Co. of Clinton Township is building the $27-million development, which will be managed by Hambly and Co. of Livonia.

“Projects like this will not only help to raise the standards of housing in our city, but also will promote additional development,” says Mayor Walter Moore. The city, after experiencing a long hey-day with General Motors Corp. in the early 1900s, is now considered one of the poorest communities in southeast Michigan. The project will be completed by summer 2003.
