Thompson has covered the commercial real estate market in various capacities over the years. As managing editor of Chicago's Lerner Newspapers, Glen covered retail and office development along North Michigan Avenue as well as hotel and multifamily development in the neighborhoods bordering Lake Michigan.
Moving to New York City in 1996, Glen served as managing editor of a convention-trade journal, where he covered hotel and convention-center development.
Thompson also gained valuable web expertise at HalfthePlanet.com, a web site serving the disability community.
Thompson will be covering breaking news in New York City as well as managing the daily news duties of reporters in Boston, Westchester, New Jersey and Washington, DC. (To contact Glen with news leads, please Email him at [email protected])
As Thompson takes the bureau chief seat, GlobeSt.com celebrates its one-year anniversary. President and publisher Jonathan Schein reflected recently on the advances the website has made in its short existence: "It's been an incredible ride. It's been a year in which we've been recognized for our journalistic excellence by the National Association of Real Estate Editors, and we've created solid news-and-information content that is unparalleled in the industry. The next year can only build on that success."
