Salvation Army Seeks Offers for Building

BOSTON-The Salvation Army seeks proposals from firms interested in redeveloping its state headquarters in the Back Bay area here. In doing so, the evangelical Protestant denomination joins other religious institutions looking to take advantage of the local real estate market.

BOSTON-The Salvation Army is seeking proposals to redevelop its state headquarters here in the Back Bay area. In doing so, the evangelical Protestant denomination joins other religious institutions looking to take advantage of the real estate market here.

In addition to its five-story building, the Salvation Army also owns an adjacent parking lot. Lieutenant Colonel Fred Van Brunt, the Salvation Army’s top official in this state, tells GlobeSt.com that the properties were assessed by the city at $10 million, but are probably worth much more on the open market.
