Company spokeswoman Karen Widmayer told GlobeSt.com that the company's subsidiary, CarrAmerica Urban Development LLC, started construction in June on 1750 H St., a 112,000-sf building that is 35 percent leased. Widmayer did not disclose the owner.

This same subsidiary is also in a joint venture with JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management for the development of 575 Seventh St., a 478,000-sf office project directly across the street from the MCI Arena. The $153-million project is 51 percent leased to Venable, Baetjer, Howard and Civiletti, a law firm.

Widmayer also said CarrAmerica plans to complete construction of a 200,000-sf building at 799 Ninth St. during fourth quarter. The firm also owns 49 percent of a partnership that recently acquired the 189,000-sf building at 2025 M St. for $37.9 million.

Subsidiary CarrAmerica Urban Development is assisting with development on two Pennsylvania Avenue deals: The Freedom Forum/Newseum building and a second headquarters building for the International Monetary Fund.
