WASHINGTON, DC-CarrAmerica is involved in more than 300,000 sf of new construction and acquired another building of nearly 200,000 sf here during Q2.

Company spokeswoman Karen Widmayer told GlobeSt.com that the company’s subsidiary, CarrAmerica Urban Development LLC, started construction in June on 1750 H St., a 112,000-sf building that is 35 percent leased. Widmayer did not disclose the owner.

This same subsidiary is also in a joint venture with JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management for the development of 575 Seventh St., a 478,000-sf office project directly across the street from the MCI Arena. The $153-million project is 51 percent leased to Venable, Baetjer, Howard and Civiletti, a law firm.
