For the past seven years, Fleming has been a partner in Fleming & Ray, a local firm he founded in 1994 that specializes in commercial real estate. He also spent 12 years at Long, Aldridge & Norman in Atlanta where he was managing partner from 1991-1993. He received his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1982.

Fleming has served as an executive committee member of the real property law section, State Bar of Georgia, since 1997. He chaired the real estate section of the Atlanta Bar Association last year.

Counsins' common opened this morning on the New York Stock Exchange at $26.15, up 39 cents (1.51%) from $25.76 on Aug. 6. The stock's 52-week high-low was $29.54 and $23.49.
