Still in the running are Mathew Chapman, the former CEO of Portland software company CFI Pro Services, and Bill Wyatt, chief of staff for Gov. John Kitzhaber. No longer in the running are Kenneth Krauter, a 20-year veteran of port management and chief executive for the Port of Jacksonvile, and Tay Yoshitani, the new executive director for the Port of Oakland.

Yoshitani removed himself from the running last week when he was promoted from Oakland's deputy port director post. Commissioners dropped Krauter off the list on Tuesday night after an executive session.

The Portland port position opened up when Mike Thorn, director for 10 years, resigned in May to consider a run for governor. Yesterday, Thorne announced he would not be running.
